A crossing to the islands of Morbihan

Take to the sea for a trip to the islands !

An hour’s boat trip from the Hotel des Druides, you can discover the most wonderful scenery, wild, authentic coasts and a warm welcome.

You cannot be anything but impressed by the beauty of these islands.

Belle Ile en Mer…  is as beautiful as its name suggests, with fantastic scenery and views, to its visitors delight.
Le Palais, regarded as the island’s capital, has a Vauban-style citadel, not to be missed.  On your visit by foot or by bike, you will discover Sauzon’s small, authentic, characteristic port, similar to a watercolour scene.  Take a trip to Bangor, which you will easily find by following the lighthouse which dominates the wild coast.  And lastly, visit Locmaria and it’s small village which is unlike any other.

Hoëdic, a small island, 8km long, which resembles  the mediteranean coast in the summer, will give you a taste of nonchalance which reflects the real islanders way of life.  In the winter, the island becomes stormy and is a reminder of the harshness of the ocean.  Hoëdic’s rugged coastlines will exhilarate and unsettle you. .

And lastly, the island of Houat, with its moors and gorse bushes.  The contrast of lime-coated houses and flamboyant colours of the boat hulls are a delight to the eye.  And there is no chance of getting stuck in a traffic jam !

These rocky expanses around the Morbihan gulf’s islands are all well marked so you can let yourself go with peace of mind.

In the summer and winter alike, you can imagine you are Robinson Crusoe and lose yourself on the coastal paths leading to distant horizons, dreaming of eternity.
